I have a Maytag CHG9800BAE Gas Range
The oven temperature isn't calibrated properly, so when I set it at 350 it will actually reach about 275 (using an accurate internal thermometer) when the pre-heat beep sounds. After 20 min. or so will inch up to as high as 300. I have tested the sensor and it appears to be in good shape and ohms at 1090 so it is working well. Will replacing the control board/clock assy fix the problem? other suggestions?
ANSWER Hello Scott,
What you will want to do is to preheat oven for at least 15 minutes. Once 15 minutes has passed allow the unit to cycle at least 3 times. Once it has cycled 3 times then you will want to have access to the control board. Pull the wires for the sensor from control and check the resistance. The Resistance at 350 degrees should be 1650 ohms plus or minus 10 percent. If the sensor reads good then the unit is working properly.
