After completing spin cycle the washer makes a very loud "rat-a tat" sound that slows down as the tub slows dowm. It seems that the tub spinning slows down slower than normal, that is, it takes longer to come to a stop. Could this be caused by something broken/worn in the brake mechanism?
P.S. I viewed your video on clutch assembly replacement and found it to be most informative and completely useful if the clutch assembly is the part to be replaced. THANKS!
ANSWER Hello Stephen,
There are several things that you would want to check. You will want to make sure that the balance ring still has liquid in it. You will want to make sure that springs are all in good condition. Check to make sure that the hub nut is tight. This is under the agitator. Check to make sure that there is nothing in the drain pump and check to make sure that the drive bell is in good condition and not loose.
