The control panel on our Maytag range seems to be failing. Intermittently, the clock and all of the read-outs on the panel go black and the buttons become non-responsive, and the oven stops heating. Then a few minutes later the panel might become operative again. Lately it seems to be happening with greater frequency. If possible I'd like to confirm that the control panel is actually the problem before I order a new one. Can you please tell me how I can confirm that the problem is in the control panel and that the problem will be fixed by replacing the control panel?
ANSWER Hello Peter. If there is power coming to the clock, and then it goes blank, you will need to replace the control 5760M305-60. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
