I recived a service call on a dryer when I got their I found the dryer unplugged so I plugged it back up. Then all hell broke out. The element came on without any buttons being pressed and when the start button was pressed the motor did not start. I am thinking control board or ?
ANSWER Hello Mike. It sounds like there is a direct short in the wiring or the element on the unit and it could have fried the board in the unit as well. You need to look for a short to start off with, then when repaired, see if it damaged the board or just blew the fuse in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
