The icemaker makes good ice for about 3 to 4 cycles. It then has an operation without putting any water in the reservoir, but the compressor kicks on and it goes into a freeze mode. The evaporator gets very cold, usually the water line then freezes and it tries to have a normal cycle after that but not much water gets into the reservoir.
In addition when the ice is being made for about the last 2 minutes of the cycle, the water level gets so low the pump draws air into the line
Based on the description it sounds as though the water line is freezing during the cycling of the refrigerant. What you will want to do is pull the main top on the icemachine and check to make sure that there is not ice building at the back right corner where the lines come into the unit. Also make sure that you insulate around the water line so that the coldness of the refrigeration lines cannot freeze the water line and make sure that the area is sealed good so no air can get in.
