I have just replaced the timer the thermal fuse and the thermostat. My timer still will not advance plus it will only heat for a couple of minutes and quit. The odd thing though the timer will advance on the time drying but the heat is only for about two minutes. Could the heating coil cause the timer not to advance and as I listen if they are bad it will only heat for a couple of minutes. What else other than the coil could cause the timer to not advance cause I want to get everything possible it could be so when I put it back together this time I will have fixed everything possible. thank you for any help you can give me.
ANSWER Hello Debra. It sounds like the gas coils are bad and will need to be replaced. The no heat is what is keeping the timer from advancing.
