Replaced igniter. Reconnected gas valve body and smelt slight gas smell after turning the gas valve on inside dryer, redid connection with thread compound and made no difference. Tried to start dryer anyways to see if it would work. Igniter glowed but pilot/burner did not light. Is the coils bad or because of the gas smell the valve body bad? I would imagine it would be a failled close system??
ANSWER JV, Check the radiant/flame sensor 338906 circuit, It should be a "closed" circuit, at room temp. and open circuit when the igniter produces approx. 2300 dgrs.F. and allows the coils to energize, and release. As for the gas leak and no ignition, you're most likely on track, it's most likly a coil failure, and that's where you'd want to start.
