I have a GE, ddg7289rclww gas dryer. My problem is similar to others, but I didn't see my exact problem posted. Before I buy coils I want to get a second opinion. Igniter lights, burner fires up and gives me a nice blue flame, however it cuts off approximately 5-10 secs after running. Unlike some of the other postings, my flame WILL come back on but will not run long enough to give the required heat for drying.
ANSWER Hello Mark. One of the symptoms of bad coils is the flame on the dryer short cycling. On for a few seconds, then turning off. Based on the information you provided, it does sounds like the coils, but you need to make sure the thermal cut-offs are not opening to soon on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
