The freezer and refrigerator both seem to not get very cold up near the top. The bottoms of both sides get really cold. In fact, on the refrigerator side, the bottom drawer up to about half way up freezes everything, and then from there up it probably gets to maybe about 40, which keeps things cool. I have turned temperatures down and it doesn't help. Could this possibly be a thermostat, or is this something else? Please let me know.
ANSWER Hello Chris. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the evaporator fan motor 4389144 is not working properly, or there is an issue with the air flow in the unit. Check the fan motor and see if it is bad. If so, replace the fan motor. If it is working properly, then you will need to check the air vent in the top and the air return in the bottom of the unit and see if something is blocking the holes through the wall for the air to circulate.
