My old fridge has just started not freezing enough. I advance thermostat from 2.5 to 3.5 and it stated working for a day or so then over night went off again. I have found if I open the door and lightly tap below the temp control knobs it pops on again. Sometimes it will cycle on and off and sometimes not. I wonder if it is a bad or corroded connection, as the tapping works, or do you think I need a new thermostat..temp. control or whatever..I would really like to keep it going as I built the kitchen around it and the newer ones are taller.

ANSWER Hello J.D. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the cold control 2198202 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.
