My washer stops when it is to drain and spin and I get an error code nd. I have had a repair man out, he said there was a soap and mold buildup in the pump and paper (he let that go down the drain), which he cleaned out, and added a cleaner and ran the washer on the normal load and it worked fine. He left, I ran the washer two times and on the third load the same error code came up and it would not drain. He came back and said it was the pump, we ordered it, he came back and installed it (ASSY-Pump DR). The same thing happened again. I am careful to not use too much soap and not overload the washer. When this happens, I remove the clothes and put the washer on spin only. You can hear the water drain but the dryer does not spin. The repairman said we probably need a circuit board. Any ideas?
ANSWER Pat, The "ND" error code, indicates a drain problem. There are a couple of other checks to make before you replace the control board. Check or replace the "air dome" hose 34001436 if there is debris or deposits in the hose, that could cause the water level switch to not reset to empty, during or after the drain, causing the code. and then, check or replace the water level switch 34001324 and wiring. If the switch has a faulty circuit when the tub is empty, that would also cause the "ND" error. You may also want to run the washer through a full REG hot water wash cycle after these checks. That will assist in cleaning any residual detergent, suds , etc. from the washer. Thanks and Good Luck
