We just purchased this frig. from the Re-Store (Hab. for Humanity) and was told it worked fine. When we got it home we found the bottom of the frig was freezing everything. We called a repairman and he said he adjusted the thermostat but to call him back if it did not solve the problem - expensive, since he did nothing. In doing a little research it seems the problem could be the control damper #AP4253513. The frig and freezer are on the lowest settings and the freezer seems fine and so does the upper portion of the frig. Please help. Thanks

John for Model Number ARS9169A5

ANSWER John, Very good, yes, it could be a stuck auto damper, causing the issue , it could alo be an article setting in front or the opening, forcing the air down the back or side wall and overcooling the bottom portion of the fridge. You should be able to remove the knobs and control panel box and see the auto damper, if you're careful you should be able to heat the temperature bulb with a hot cloth or hair dryer and observe if the damper door opens and closes. Good Luck and Thanks
