My refrigerator is operating very erratically. The compressor and fan do not cycle on at times when they should. The temperature in both the refrigerator compartment and the freezer are warming up enough that the compressor should cycle on but on occasion it does not. Here is the kicker, when the compressor won't cycle on, I or my wife will open the freezer door and all we have to do is to lightly tap the freezer control knob (Item # AP4077559) and the compressor will cycle on and continue to run normally. At times it will cycle on normally all by itself without our having to open the freezer door and tap the freezer control knob and at times we have to 'tap start' the compressor. It drives us nuts, always checking if ref./freezer is cold enough. The problem as it seems to me, may be with the Freezer Temperature Control assembly Item # AP4077824 but of course that is just a guess on my part. So I would appreciate in your professional opinion what you think my problem may be. Thank you for your help. Tony
ANSWER Hello Tony,
This sounds like you either have a bad connection, (not very likely as it would be more likely to just not come on at all), or the temperature control 67003000 has failed.
