Control knob broke, have the new replacement, but it does not fit flush like the original knob did. HELP!!!!!!!!!!! How do I make it fit?

ANSWER Hello Bettie. The knob 8182049 pushes onto the shaft. Check and make sure the old clip is not stuck on the shaft and causing the new knob not to install properly. Hope this helps.
