cycle control knob is out of sync and we can't get the knob off. All the others just pull off. How to tell what cycle you're in to wash?? How to get the knob off. Tried to pull but won't give and afraid of breaking something inside. Thanks

ANSWER Hello Donna. Make sure the knob is pressed in, and access the back of the timer. Hold the clip on the back of the timer with pliers and pull the knob 3957799 off the front of the timer. Hope this helps.
