My whirlpool electric range's control board died during self-cleaning mode; no lights on the control board and door is locked. Stove top still heats/turns on.
Is this a thermal fuse problem or does the entire control board need to be replaced?
ANSWER Hello Dan. Test and see if there is power coming to the control 6610457 on the unit. If so, you will need to order and replace the control on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
