what does a thermal cut-out do?
ANSWER Johnny , A thermal cut out's purpose is to open the circuit and remove power to the heater or motor(depending on which circuit) should the dryer overheat. It makes the machine inoperable if it opens, and should not be bypassed, except for test purposes, it has to be replaced. Good Luck
