I have a Whirlpool washer (LXR7244PQ0). When I start my wash cycle on "regular wash", the basket fills with water and won't move beyond that point. When I try to manually turn the knob to spin, nothing happens. I manually drained the water out, once the water was out, the machine worked when I turned it to "regular wash" mode again but still will not go further than filling the basket with water. What do I need to repair it? Thank you.

ANSWER Vera, You will need to check your lid switch assembly for continuity. With the lid closed the switch should have continuity. If not then the lid switch 8318084 is bad and will need to be replaced.
