Heater element prong on exterior back right of dishwasher and corresponding white with brown stripe wire (tip of wire) as well as Nut-Heater are fried. Prong is crusted with burnt corroded matter, Nut-Heater is partially melted with brown matter, and tip of wire is completely melted off. Are you aware of any recalls on this model? The white with brown stripe wire appears to be part of the wiring harness that routes from back of washer up under the front panel to control box. How difficult is it to replace wiring harness? Is total estimated cost of $120 for heater element, nut-heater, and wiring harness main worth repairing?
ANSWER Hi Roger. The heating element is part # W10518394. 2-rubber washers needed (sold separately) is part # W10518394. The wire nuts are part # 8268548. Also need 2. The hi-limit thermostat is part # 661566. The fuse is part #8193762. The control board is part # 8564547. You really need to verify the recall from Whirlpool Customer Service # 1-800-253-1301. Thank you.
