How do I test the motor and the capacitor to see if they are bad? You suggest that I replace the motor with your motor ap2907974. Do I still need to use the capacitor on that motor? Will the wiring harness fit without modification?
ANSWER Hello Tom. You test for power to the motor. You will use the old capacitor. You can test it if you have a meter made for capacitors, but usually they do not fail often. And the harness should fit the new motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
