I have a washing machine that is noisy in all cycles. I suspect a bad drive motor but not sure.
You will want to pull the belt off and run the unit in spin to see if the noise still exists. If it does then the motor is at fault. If not then you will want to check the pump to make sure that the pulley spins freely and make sure that there is nothing clogged in the pump which would make noise. If this checks ok then it may be a bad thrust bearing on the unit.
