Kitchen Aid dishwasher: recently something broke in the mechanism that keeps tension on the door (it now falls quickly). Does it have a cable assembly or does it have springs? I would like to buy the parts I need before I pull the dishwasher out. Thank you very much.

ANSWER Hello John,
This unit has a spring and cable door balance system. The cables and wheels come as a kit 8194001. The springs are 8270182. You will have to order two springs if needed, but all of the parts for both sides all come together in the kit for the cables and wheels.
