I have a kitchenaid superba. The door wouldnt stay to shut to engage sensor in latch to allow operation. I replaced that latch, now door stays shut, but does not lined up enough to engage sensor in new latch. Do I need new hinges or a door balancing kit?

ANSWER Chad, You will need to check the hinges and the dishwasher frame, to make sre they are not bent or damaged. Also check the inner door panel, and make sure it has not been bent. The door balance kit does not have much to do with the door closing and latching. You will also need to check the door latch strike 8574157 and make sure it is not damaged, bent or distorted. You don't have a "sensor" on the latch assembly. when the latch aligns and the strike enters the latch assembly, this allows the latch mechanism to "roll and lock the door, when this occurs, the door switches in the latch assembly are activated and the dishwasher operates.
