The door hinges on my Kitchenaid are very noisy. Silicone spray did not help. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks for a great forum. We were able to fix the door spring based on the information I found on this site. When my visiting sister pushed on the door when it was in the down position, we heard a loud snap. The door seemed heavier than normal. When we reinstalled the dishwasher after our kitchen remodel, the door was like a block of lead. It seems the first snap may have been the balance/pullety system pulling loose and when we removed the dishwasher the spring fell off completely. We later found the missing spring and reinstalled it. Problem solved!
ANSWER Jane, Silicone spray, is not the best libricant to use on hinges, You should be using something like, white lithium grease, wheel axle grease, or moly kote grease. You also need to check the springs 8270182 and roller assemblies 8194001 That's where the majority of door hing noises come from. Good Luck.
