Over the weekend, lifting the lid (only water running) and closing halted operation. Inspected the panel and found the 1A in-line fuse blown. I exercised the switch and the balancer, replaced the fuse. Started drawing water again and closed the lid and system stopped. Found fuse "violently" blew this time. Could the switch be causing the fuse to blow? THANKS!

ANSWER Hello Roy,
If the switch is shorted to ground it could certainly blow the fuse. You want to check the switch using a volt meter to see if there is a spike when the lid is closed.
