I have a Maytag A512 washer that is about 21 years old. I am replacing both the hoses that go to the washer drain pump. The longer hose to the siphon break on my washer appears to have a plastic or metal band that attaches the hose to the siphon break instead of a adjustable camp shown on the Illustrated parts list. Can I just cut that band off and use the clamp to attach the new hose without having to replace the entire siphon break?
ANSWER Hello Dean,
Yes you can cut the band and put a screw down clamp. Just be sure to make sure that you do not overtighten.
