Aha! Now that clears things up for me. As I understand it, the pump blade is spiral by design so that it will pump when going CW but not when going CCW based on which direction the motor is turning. The pump seemed OK but the belt seemed a little worn out so I replaced it, see what happens. Now my question next question is: If I have to replace the pump, I will need to remove the front panel correct? How do I do that?
Don for Model Number MAV5000AWW
ANSWER Hello Don. Here are the steps for removing the front panel.
Grasp the front edge of the top of your machine and simply lift up. No tools are required. The top is hinged at the back and will lift up like a clam shell. Lift all the way up and rest the lid on the wall behind the machine.
Locate the two Phillips screws on the top inside edge of the front panel. There is one screw at each corner of the top of the front panel on the inside of the machine. Remove these screws and keep them safe.
Tip the front panel toward you just a little and then wiggle it slightly and lift up. The panel will pull up until it clears to J-shaped clips near the bottom of the panel. Hope this helps.
