Hi, My washer first stopped spinning during all cycles except whites. About 1 month later, it now won't drain or spin in any cycles. I took the belt off and verified the motor spins when engaged in the spin cycle. With the belt still off, I turned the transmission drive pulley in the clockwise direction, which caused the agitator to move back and forth. Then I turned the transmission pulley in the opposite direction, the pulley did get harder to turn, and the tub did slowly spin, basically as I turned the pulley the tub made a rotation but kind of seemed tight (is it supposed to be?). I then rotated the pump and in either direction and it drags, makes a rubbing/grind sound. There was also a lot of belt dust around the pump pulley. Is my pump bad or my thrust bearings?
Thanks,
Mike

ANSWER Hello Mike. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the thrust bearing is releasing the brake and is working properly. I would suggest you replacing the pump 35-6465 and the belt 22003483 on the unit.
