My compacter has a broken large drive gear. I question what made it break? Could the directioal switch be bad or isthere a lower limit switch? What is the test proceedure to check or should i just replace the gears and see how it works? However I don't want to keep replacing gears. Thank you. Allan
ANSWER Hello Alla. Usually the gear 882699 breaks from getting in a bind with some trash in the unit. It is best to just replace the gear on the unit. It should be fine unless it binds again.
