Unit Started to smell burnt and very hot to touch and noticed the timer did not activate shut off after auto.set for 35 Mins., setting indicator showed operation of 55 Mins. and also showed wet on sensing program, laundry was dry-hot. Dryer worked fine the next day for one cycle only, now everything lights up although nothing happens on start.
ANSWER Hi John. Your unit can overheat under 2- conditions normally. Look at the back of the dryer's vent without pulling it out(in the natural position). If the vent is kinked and plastic you are backing up heat and moisture into the cabinet area. Look at the whole length and clean your outside vent/hood to operate properly. You really need the cycling thermostat part # or the thermistor part # 8577274 that operates the on /off temperature swings. It will stick and get out of range overheating the cabinet and prematurely wearing out parts. use the supplied tech. sheet to activate the diagnostic mode. This will find any fault codes and then you will be able to tell which circuit has the issue. The motor is part # 279787. Thank You.
