BASEMENT FLOODED. DRYER HAD ABOUT 3 INCHES OF WATER IN THE BOTTOM. NOW CONTROL PANEL WORKS AND ONLY A CLICK HAPPENS WHEN TRYING TO START DRYER. WOULD THE MOTOR MOST LIKELY BE THE FAILED PART SINCE IT WAS IN THE WATER?
Tb for Model Number WGD9050XW0
ANSWER TB, You're on track, a water logged electric motor 279787 has little to no chance of starting or running, without a complete rebuild,so you'll need to replace the motor. You'll also want to check the belt switch W10314253 operation and circuit. and the igniter and radiant sensor on the burner assembly, they could be damaged by water as well.
