Our Whirpool Duet gas dryer is about 5 years old. Over the last several months we are seeing 1"-3" brown/burn marks on some of our white and light colored clothes. They tend to come out after being treated and rewashed. Looking into the back of the dryer there is a substantially larger gap/amount of felt drum seal showing than at the left lower corner. Moving my finger arond from upper right large gap to to lower left small gap, I can feel my finger getting pinched. The dryer does not make any unusual or squeaking noises. Is this a sign that something is out of alignment and needs adjusment or just the drum seal is worn out and/or that a roller (left rear) is worn out and/or drum belt/pully? What are the wear signs I should inspect for to determine what really needs to be replaced? Thank you.
ANSWER Hello John. Based on the information you provided, you will need to replace the felt seals 280114 and the rollers W10314173 on the front and back of the dryer drum. This will repair the issue with the brown streaks.
