The dryer gets nice and toasty but will turn off prior to the end of the drying cycle. Pushing start again will sometimes restart the machine but sometimes not. Could it be the thermal cutoff?

ANSWER Bob,
The thermal cut off would not allow the unit to restart if it fails will not reset. You may want to check the cycling or high limit thermostat. Check to make sure that your venting from the blower to the outside of home is clear as well.
