I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care II gas dryer. On the highest setting the heating element immediately turns orange and ignites the gas. However, after about 10 minutes it goes out and never comes back. Does this indicate a problem with the cycling thermostat? If I check the continuity, should I expect it to read "0" even though it does initially start the flame? Thanks.
ANSWER Hello David,
This is either a bad coil on the gas valve or the gas valve has failed.
