Silly question! I have a faulty door switch (dryer previously ran when the door was open, but now won't run at all neither open nor closed. I know this is the problem based on how the light behaves as well.
The problem is...on my particular model, I can't figure out how to get the lid off? It doesn't appear to have clips in the front, and the control panel also doesn't seem to be releasable. It looks like I can disassemble the back of the control panel and then maybe make progress that way, but wanted to avoid that if it was not necessary .
I have Whirlpool model LEQ8611LW1. Anyone know the specifics on this model?
ANSWER Hello Bryan. You must remove the toe panel and then the 2 screws at the bottom of the front panel and remove the front panel to access and replace the door switch on the unit.
