Intense rattling during use. Belt looks fine. Rollers look okay too but wasn't sure how thick the rubber should be on the rollers. There is steel exposed on the front of the drum, likely from where the glides rub and about the width of the glides. Is this normal? I was thinking of just replacing all. The rollers, axles, glides, and felt seals. Do you think this is the best option? Also, can you tell me if I'll need adhesive for the felts?
ANSWER Hello Bill,
The drum seals 33001807 only need replaced if excessively worn or missing. The adhesive used for this is Y055980. This should be allowed to sit 2 or 3 minutes before sticking the seal to it and allow it to self-cure by sitting for an hour before using the unit. The drum rollers 12001541 and idler pulley 6-3700340 tend to be the parts that frequently require replacement. Making your exhaust duct a full 4 inches in diameter with solid rigid ducting and making it short and straight as possible will extend the life of these parts. The glide wear on the drum is normal.
