I need to replace the rear felt seal. How do I access/replace it?

Jan for Model Number 110.76962501

ANSWER Jan, The part you should be orderring is: 280114 this is the correct part for your model number, that you supplied. To access the rear drum seal, you will need to Unplug the power cord, remove the lower front access panel by prying it out towards you at the top, with a putty knife or screw driver. Loosen but do not remove the 2 scews(one on each side) holding the lower portion of the panel to the front frame of the cabinet. you will need to insert the putty knife into the seam, between the top panel and the front panel top approximately 2 inches in from the corner and press in on the spring clip and lift up on the corner and raise the top. Reach into the cabinet and disconnect the wires from the door switch assembly, check inside of the top front panel and remove the 2 screws holding the panel to the frame, then lift up and out on the panel. you should have access to the front bulkhead assembly, remove the four(4) screws securing the bulkhead to the cabinet front frame , and lift up and out, a couple of inches, the drum will shift forward and down, once the drum rollers have cleared the drum. Now make note as to the routing of the drum drive belt( it'll make the installation easier). Lift up on the idler pulley, to release the tension on the belt, and remove the belt from the motor drive pulley. You can now slide the drum out the front of the cabinet and perform the seal replacement. You want to clean the seal area as best possible with alcohol, apply a bead of the adhesive to the drum surface and the inner surface of the seal, allow to set for a few minutes(until tacky) Then install the seal. and reverse the procedure abd test the operation. There may be some residual odor from the adhesive for a couple of loads of laundry. Good Luck.
