How do I replace the dryer drum front glides (left & right sides)?
Dryer model #YE2OEA4 (Magic Chef).
ANSWER Richard, You should probably order this "kit" 12002126 since you're replacing both slides. First, you need to unplug the power cord or remove power to the dryer, and slide it out 4 to 6 inches. Use a putty knife or similar tool and insert it into the seam between the front panel and top and press in on the spring tabs and lift up on the top corner to release the top from the cabinet. with the top up and against the wall, look in the cabinet interior and remove the two(2) screws(one on each side) that attach the front panel to the cabinet side flange, lean the front panel out enough the disconnect the wires from the door switch, then lean it out enough the dislodge the drum from the front panel and set the front panel aside. Make a note of the belt routing and reach around the motor and release the belt from the idler pulley Pull out on the drum and turn it in a clockwise direction at the samee time, to release the drum from the rear roller assemblies, then slide the drum and belt out of the cabinet. You now have access to the drum glides. One is mounted on the top of the blower housing and the other is on the top of the drum support stantion. They are both slot and twist fittings and will not need any adhesive or rivets. Once the glides are installed you may want to apply a small "dab" of silicone lubricant to the new pads, then reverse the procedures, and test the dryer.
