I have a Whirlpool WED6400SW1 dryer that was squealing and making all kinds of noise while running with clothes in it. (It didn't squeal when running empty.) Everything I read said it was the support rollers or idler pulley. Is this even the correct part(s) to fix the squealing?
I purchased part AP3131942 (Dryer Repair Kit (29 Inch Large Capacity Models). However, the drum support rollers and idler pulley currently inside the dryer look nothing the parts that were sent. The pictures of the idler pulley and drum supports when purchased individually look just like mine but not the items that actually came in AP3131942. Did I purchase the correct part?
ANSWER Hello Laura,
The more economical way to go is with the dryer repair kit 4392065. This includes the drum rollers, the idler pulley, the belt, and the retainers for the drum rollers. If you price the repair parts individually, you will see a substantial savings with this kit.
