ok, i have a maytag neptune washer/dryer set. they are frontload and the dryer is squealing like a banshee, which i assume is a result of the belt pulley being bad because when i shot it with wd-40 it stopped temporarily. the problem is, i cant order the parts without the dryer model number and the sticker has been ripped off (presumably by the previous owner) Is there some way to cross reference my dryer from the washers model number? (maytag neptune washer model #MAH5500BWW) And if not, is there a universal maytag pulley kit that i can order that will work? Thank you for your help.
ANSWER Hi John. Well then, using the model # MED5500AYW, the dryer tumbler wheel is part # 12001541. The shaft is part # 6-3129480. It is recommended to replace both rollers at the same time. If the blower wheel is rubbing and rumbling loose on the motor shaft, you need to replace it as well. Part # 33002797. The drum belt is part # 33002535. Use the shop vac to super clean all including motor windings and the lint screen housing. Make sure the entire vent system is not clogged and the outside vent hood /cap is opening and closing correctly as to not let the outside rain or dew to re-enter the vent system. This is needed to happen 4-5x /yr so the unit breathes easier and does not overheat the element from red-hot to white hot. Never use WD-40 (or any spray lubricant) in a dryer as it is flammable and will catch the house on fire. Thank You.
