My dryer stopped running completely. I found that depressing the Push to Start switch would make it run, but it shuts down after the switch is released. Thermal fuse and Thermal Cut-off check good as does the heating element. I jumpered across the PTS switch long enough to determine the dryer functions normally. It heats up and the drum is turning. What would be my next step? Based on the prints, I suspect a bad electronic control.
ANSWER Hello Steven,
The issue you described is either caused by a bad centrifugal switch or a loose connection between the door switch and the motor, (neutral is being dropped between the door switch and the motor). This will not be a bad electronic control.
