I replaced the two cut-offs with the dryer thermal cut-off kit (part #279816). However, there are four wires (orange seems to be split to red wires). Therefore, I have 4 red wires which provides for outstanding clarity via color-coding. Should the split orange wire be put on one side of the heating coil and one side of the thermostat? Is there polarity to either the heating element or thermostat? I assume there is no need for the jumper cable.

ANSWER Hello Otis,
Yes the orange would have one side on the thermostat and the other on the heater coil. There is no polarity as it is 240 vac coming to the heater and the jumper is not necessary.
