We are being told we need to replace the thermal cut-off. Is it necessary to replace the hi limit thermostat also? Watched the video and we don't have the orange wire that is shown going to the hi limit thermostat. Ours just has the red wire and nothing else. ?? Is it possible to do without the orange on the new hi limit thermostat?
ANSWER Hello MW,
When you replace the thermal cutoff it is best to replace the high limit as well. When a thermal cutoff blows then it is cause by the high limit not allowing the unit to cycle off. This allows too high of temp and causes thermal to blow. The kit will come with instructions on how to replace the parts.
