My ceramic block has two leads but only one of them has a cable attached. I see how the current thermostat has a little elbow connecting to the other. Every video I've seen of electric dryers has an orange cable connecting to that other lead on the ceramic block and my machine is entirely devoid of that third cable. This has thrown me for a loop about that 'coupled-cable' connection to the new thermostat. I have no orange cable -- just two cables, one going to the top of the thermostat and one going to one of the terminals on the ceramic block
I think the extra cable in the kit could simply replace the metal elbow coming off the lower terminal on the thermostat but want to make sure
Yes the cable that comes with the kit will replace the elbow terminal on the original thermostat. The instructions that came with kit should explain how to wire the part.
