So...my dryer wouldn't heat and I'd already replaced the heating element a couple years ago...but I do a LOT of laundry. So I figure, that was painless, I suppose I better go ahead and get the Dryer Thermal Cutoff Kit because the multimeter was dead and my husband didn't want to buy another multimeter. So. I followed the instructions carefully, put everything back together, plugged her in and VIOLA! She's running and there's a nice happy glow through the holes so I know the heating mechanism's working again! I high-five my son, go to turn off the dryer and there's a SPARK! Ack! I wait a few minutes, get up my nerve, turn the thing on...no dice. NO MORE HEAT. Boo! So...any ideas? Now what?
ANSWER Hello Kap. You need to check and see if the heater touched metal and caused the issue with the unit. Also, look for a wire touching metal. Either can cause the issue you had with the unit.
