My dryer does run, no motor humming, door light ok when pushed in, no timer sound, power to the unit is verified, push the start button then hear a click only, turn timer pass off position and press the start button click only again, still will not run. no signs, sounds, or smell. what will it be is it the start button? the timer? or the thermal fuse. last cycle before the breakdown, was in low heat cycle only. I have the timer ordered and its on the way here, but thats just a guess. thanks in advance
ANSWER Hello Michael,
The only components in the start circuit besides the wiring harness that could cause this are the timer, the door switch, and the motor. I doubt the door switch is the issue if you hear a click when it is pressed. You should try this: Open the door and tape the door switch down. Press the push-to-start switch while reaching inside and spinning the drum. If the dryer starts, the start winding in the motor has failed and the motor will have to be replaced. If it doesn't start. the wiring harness and the timer are suspects.
