Dryer got extremely hot and ran for long time on cycle, when attempted to dry another load of clothes the burner would not ignite but everything else worked(blower, drum turned, etc.) checked dryer for problems, made sure was not plugged and tapped the timer then tried again and worked once and then did same thing again. We ordered a thermal fuse to see if this is the problem. Any other suggestions?
ANSWER Hello Denarae. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter to see if it is good. If it is not glowing, test for power. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
