Hi, thanks. My dryer has a thermal fuse 3392519 with no wires going to it. It tests open. This is located in the blower box. Also the thermal fuse (part of kit #279816) located in the heater box tests open and also has no wires going to it... This was a used dryer bought at a flea market. My question is why are there no wires going to these items? Is it possible that some modified and bypassed these item, or did they install but not use those on certain models/ serial numbers? Any thoughts or help here is appreciated. My heater element and high limit t stat are bad and I am going to replace, but am confused about these item with no wiring going to them. By the way I do not notice any cut or loose hanging wires anywhere in the cabinet.
ANSWER Hello Thomas. Someone has bypassed these and it is extremely dangerous and a fire hazard. You either need to replace the wiring harness or the dryer.
