when I try to start dryer, the light that says "sending" comes on, and the dryer will not start

Mike for Model Number Dryer Model GEW9250PWO

ANSWER Mike an "open" thermal fuse can cause the symptom as you describe it. The thermal fuse 3392519 and belt switch 279782 allow power to flow from the machine control board to the motor, if either is defective or has an "open" circuit, the motor will not start and run. If the thermal fuse is at fault, you also want to check and clean the lint from the exhaust vent and hood.
