I have a Whirlpool Electric Dryer that overheats. It seems like the Heating Element continues to heat after the dryer tub stop spinning. Clothes at the top of the tub close to the heating input gets scorched. What can be the cause of this problem?
ANSWER Hello Richard. You need to check and see if the heating element is grounded out and is touching the metal housing of the unit. If so, it will cause the element to stay on. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
